Hi folks. Back again with an exciting & new content for you all.

I had a trip to Purulia, a district in West Bengal with a group from my photography school. The trip was quite a short one, just for 3 days n 2 nights, but there was no lack of enjoyment through 3 day's hectic schedule n we clicked a lotsa photos n we tried to squeeze every second of it as much as we could get out of it n we succeed.

Let's kick off:

Our trip kicked off on November 5 th 2022 at about 12 am. night n reached the desired place in the next morning at about 7:25 am. N we had 22 members in the group. We got off the train n went for a car ride towards "Bagmundi" at Barabhum, Purulia. We reached the place we were to stay for the next couple of days (It was a homestay, a homely environment "Chhouburu tourism") there at " Bagmundi".

At the very moment we had reached the homestay, we had a quick shower n breakfast, then we started our photography tour towards our first spot "Ghatkhola waterfall", it's a damn beautiful spot, a waterfall in the nature. The weather was pretty calming n soothing as well.

Let's see the shots I had taken of "Ghatkhola waterfall"...

A few fishermen were there catching fish. After visiting this spot we had returned to our homestay n had our lunch.

In the evening we started visiting our next spot an area surrounded by hill n jungle. Such a wonderful place it was. We reached there for "Chhou dance" (A tribal dance) program. "Chhou dance" Is actually a dance type with dance n drama inclusively.

At the very moment we reached there we saw the dancers were dressing up, wearing masks n all.

Let's share some photos with you all:

This program was truly spectacular. It still gives me goosebumps. It's a life time experience. The energy, vitality, power were there, it was mesmerizing. You are to experience this as well pals.

That was all for that night.

Next day:

The next morning, could say too early at about,4:30 am. in the morning a couple of us (5/6 people) who could get up that early, (I'm glad, I was one of them) went for a photo walk just to catch up some rare moments of that hampton area, the people, the nature n all. It was much colder there at that time of the day, a whole different kinda weather than the city at that time of the year.

Anyway our photo walk got fruitful 😄 n no matter what, we were able to capture some amazing moments.

Let's share the shots with you all:

Our morning photo walk was really amazing n it was my (exclusively mine) first visit to a hampton area. I was too excited n the people there though unknown are very cooperative, friendly n received us with open arms, their sincere welcome had just warmed our heart.

Then at about 8 am. we returned to our homestay n did our morning chores n went towards the next scheduled spot visit, by the way our morning photo walk wasn't scheduled at all, some of us were just too enthusiastic n wanted to experience the morning of such a beautiful countryside so far away from our city.

Anyway this time we reached to "Ajodhya hills" area (Though the whole Bagmundi is surrounded by Ajodhya hills) n the spot we reached, "the area is a mix of hills with mid dense forest in some places the forest is deep. It is part of Dalma Forest and part of the Chota Nagpur Plateau. Hills are rocky and surrounding plan lands are mixed boulder zone with steep landscape."

This is a place we had experienced cockfighting n our shutters seemed like triggers n we wanted to catch atleast 2/3 best shots, one after another n it was like chickens weren't fighting but we're for one best shot at least 😄

Let's check on the shots:

I clicked a couple of other shots too. Let's check on them.

Next spot:

Then we left that spot n went for our next attraction, 'A Santhal village'.

Shanthals are the largest tribal community in the eastern part (WestBengal, Bihar, Jharkhand) of India. Their community stay in a large group in the forest devision area, much more away of the major population.

(The Santals are generally non-vegetarian, and keep cattle, goats, and poultry. Fishing is important whenever they have access to rivers and ponds. Traditionally Santals were experts in woodwork and woodcarving, and produced finely carved carts, utensils, and musical instruments, mainly for their own use.)

We met santhal people, kids, we were able to experience their culture to a little extent. Tribals are really gentle, kind n much more whole hearted people than the major population of India.

Let's see some shots I had clicked of them:

In the afternoon:

Then in the afternoon we had a visit to another santhal village & the very moment we reached there, we saw the community people were preparing for one of their cultural festival, "Bandna" (Bandna parab)

Let's see some shots of the celebration:

In the evening:

In the evening at about 7:45 we reached to that same santhal village we spotted in the daytime.

This time we reached there for a santhal dance program. It's considered to be one of the greatest tribal folk dances in India.

For more

Let't check on it:

As I described of the Chhou dance program, this santhal dance is a lifetime experience as well. All of these dance types are old cultural tribal heritages in Purulia.

Last but not the least, tribal folk instument as madal (It is very popular and widely used as a hand drum in Nepal. The madal has a cylindrical body with a slight bulge at its center and heads at both ends, one head larger than the other.)

Source: Google

Is very popular during every tribal folk traditional cultural programs (parabs) in India. The tune of madal is so intoxicating n calming n that's the best attraction of these kinda programs.

Next morning:

The next morning all of us were a bit tired n we woke up a little late than the usual schedule of our trip as it was the last day of this trip.

At about 11 in the morning we set out of the homestay n reached to 'Khairabera dam' near Baghmundi.

It's a hidden gem in Purulia. Its unbelievable beauty n natural aspects are huge. It's just amazing in every way.

Sharing some shots:

Next spot:

Then we went for our last visit of our scheduled trip n this time it's the Marble lake.

Marble lake is a man made lake though, but it's a wonderful spot for photography as well.

A few shots:

I've a few more attractions for you all...

Some more shots I clicked on this trip:

These shots above were taken when 'Sathals' were preparing of their 'Bandna parab', the worship n all on the previous day of the festival.

Let's see other photos I clicked during the trip:
